Elk County reports 2 new cases

Elk County reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, with its total number of cases increasing from 2,821 to 2,823.

Both of Elk County’s latest cases were confirmed cases in the Ridgway zip code of 15853. The zip code has now reported 360 confirmed cases and 200 probable cases.

Of Elk County’s 2,823 total cases of COVID-19, 1,551 have been confirmed cases and 1,272 have been probable cases. The county has also reported 6,315 negative tests.

McKean County reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, with its total number of cases increasing from 3,577 to 3,594.

All 17 of McKean County’s latest cases were confirmed cases. One new confirmed case was added to the Lewis Run zip code of 16738, which has now reported 142 confirmed cases and 335 probable cases. The Bradford zip code of 16701 reported an increase of seven confirmed cases and a decrease of one probable case. The zip code has now reported 1,158 confirmed cases and 221 probable cases. Two new confirmed cases were added to the Smethport zip code of 16749, which has now reported 328 confirmed cases and 46 probable cases. Four new confirmed cases were added to the Port Allegany zip code of 16743, which has now reported 252 confirmed cases and 36 probable cases. Two new confirmed cases were added to the Turtlepoint zip code of 16750, which has now reported 18 confirmed cases and a redacted number of probable cases. One new probable case was added to the Eldred zip code of 16731, which has now reported 163 confirmed cases and 35 probable cases. One new confirmed case was added to the Duke Center zip code of 16729, which has now reported 42 confirmed cases and eight probable cases.

Of McKean County’s 3,594 total cases of COVID-19, 2,739 have been confirmed cases and 855 have been probable cases. The county has also reported 10,877 negative tests.

No new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cameron County on Friday.

Five other area counties reported increases in their COVID-19 case totals on Friday. Clearfield County reported 31 new cases, with its total increasing to 8,327; Forest County reported one new case, with its total increasing to 1,418; Jefferson County reported eight new cases, with its total increasing to 3,239; Potter County reported six new cases, with its total increasing to 1,105; and Warren County reported six new cases, with its total increasing to 2,560.

The latest area cases were among 2,986 reported statewide. In an email update, the Pennsylvania Department of Health stated that “one lab is still getting caught up with backlogged data and another lab just submitted over 100 test results dating back to more than a month ago.”

Pennsylvania has now reported 1,169,678 total cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
