Storytime with the Queens slated for Wednesday

ST. MARYS - Youngsters are invited to attend Storytime with the Queens on Wednesday evening as part of a project by Elk County Fair Queen Gina Bush.

The event begins at 6 p.m. at Memorial Park in St. Marys in the pavilion near the baseball field. It is open to all children with no pre-registration required.

Bush plans to read “Little Critters County Fair”, “Fantastic Fairs” County Fair” and “My First House Books: County Fair” which she obtained from the St. Marys Public Library. In addition youngster will have the opportunity to complete a craft, which consists of the coloring contest hosted by the Elk County Fair. All submissions will be entered in the contest and displayed at the fair.

A carnival themed game is also being offered as part of the event which is slated to last between 1.5-2 hours.

“We wanted a way to connect with the younger kids who normally may not hear about the fair through traditional advertising,” Bush said. “This is more of a hands approach to reach the youth.”

The Elk County Fair kicks off August 10 at the fair grounds in Kersey.
