Haunted Forest set to spook visitors

The forest surrounding Benzinger Park in St. Marys are filled with spooky, scary and creepy creatures and scenes as part of The Haunted Forest event taking place Friday and Saturday night from 6:30-10 p.m. The event is sponsored by the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce, City of St. Marys Parks and Recreation Department and Storybook Sweets. A concession stand will be open during the event which is geared toward teens and adults. Proceeds from the event benefit the St. Marys fireworks display and summer park programs. Attendees should utilize the Fleming Road entrance to the park as the back parking lot off of Vine Road is reserved for volunteers. Shown is a covered bridge, a spider maze, some of the event props and Andrew Mohney, chamber of commerce president, is shown working on props for the event.
