Bavarian Hills holds 24th annual Member-Member Championship

The 24th annual Bavarian Hills Member-Member Championship concluded recently. The event, a two-person best ball match play format, starts with an 18-hole qualifier on Memorial Day weekend and players battle through the brackets during the summer.

Coming out on top in the men’s division were David Feldbauer and Michael Feldbauer, and in the ladies’ division it was Teresa Vavala and Diana Muccio.

The Feldbauers won their 18-hole championship against the runner-up team of Kenny Salter and Bryan Valentine 2 & 1. Salter and Valentine won their semifinal match against Brad Anderson and Paul Lucore 4 & 3, while the eventual champions knocked off Ed Herbstritt and Bill Roberts 3 & 2.

On the ladies’ side, which is a double elimination format, Muccio and Vavala held of defending champions Tammi Cotter and Maryanne Feldbauer. After falling 2 & 1 in the first match, Muccio and Vavala came back to win the final match 1 up in 10 holes.
