Ruth Ann Gregori

Ruth Ann Gregori, age 74, of Bryce Lane, Penfield, PA, died at home on March 22, 2023 after an extensive battle with cancer. A daughter of the late Donald George and America Ruth (Webb) Colbey, she was born on April 8, 1948 in DuBois, PA. On April 15, 1968 she married Louis M. Gregori, who survives at home. Along with her husband, Ruth is survived by: two children, Louis M. Gregori, Jr. of Penfield and Victoria D. (Deric) Case of State College; two grandchildren, Joshua and Carissa Case; and a brother, Jeffrey (Gena) Colbey of Penfield. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by: a brother, Donald Colbey and a sister, Donna in infancy. Ruth was a member of the following associations: DuBois Area Historical Society President – 11 years. Ruth was honored and proud that the DuBois Area Historical Society was given the lead to plan the 150th year celebration of the founding of the City of DuBois; Penfield Public Election Services – 11 years; Huston Township Route 153 Veterans Memorial Bridge Dedication Committee – 2015; Huston Township Alumni Scholarship Committee; Huston Township Cemetery Committee; Bennett's Valley Senior Center – where she enjoyed Tuesday afternoon Bingo; Vietnam Veterans of America Bucktail Chapter 720 Auxiliary; and Bennett's Valley American Legion Post 978 Auxiliary. Ruth was the author of a column titled “Mementoes of Valley Life” published in the Bennett's Valley News After Ruth retired she began researching her Mayflower family lineage. Her Mayflower Society membership application was approved in 2023 after five years of compiling documents required for acceptance. During her spare time she enjoyed crafting, occasionally, involving her sister-inlaw Gena. She gifted her completed projects. Ruth enjoyed being co-pilot during Jeep trips on Penfield backroads escaping to the woods to recharge. She lived all her life in Penfield. There will be no public visitation. The family will be receiving friends from 9 – 10 a.m., on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2023 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA with Father Mark Mastrian, celebrant. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the DuBois Area Historical Society, the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 720 of Dagus Mines, PA or the Penfield Volunteer Fire Department – and will be accepting online condolences at www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com.
