Dorothy Mae Fuge

Dorothy Mae Fuge passed away at home, March 23, 2023, in Johnsonburg with family and home hospice at 93 years of age, shortly after a fall causing a broken hip. She was the wife of the late Lloyd H. Fuge. She is survived by her daughters, LaDonna and Marlena, their husbands Tom Scheetz and Robert Hary; grandchildren: Sikira, Bolana Schofield (David) and Lloydthomas; her sister Mary Ann Punola and numerous nieces and nephews. As wife of a predominate attorney and mayor, she was active in civic duties. Dorothy was president of the women's club, started Clairton's Public Library's book club and founded the Meals On Wheels in Clairton, PA. Dorothy loved to dress up and was able to have her hair done right up to her last week. She enjoyed some of her favorite pastimes right up to that fall, including: piano playing, listening to her music CDs and reading daily. She talked twice a day with daughter, Marlena, and throughout each week with her sister and many friends. She was looking forward to hosting the Johnsonburg Library Book Club's September meeting at her home. Dorothy felt she had had a good life and was “ready to go” after her husband Lloyd's death. A private memorial service will be held at a future date for family. If remembrance is considered, donations should be directed to the Johnsonburg Public Library, 520 Market St., Johnsonburg and Helping Hands Food Bank, 409 Center St., Johnsonburg, PA 15845 that she felt so strongly about supporting. Online condolences will be accepted at the Ubel Funeral Home website (www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com).
