By Becky Polaski Staff Writer

ST. MARYS – Elk County Catholic High School celebrated the 41 members of its senior class on Sunday afternoon, with a Baccalaureate Mass and followed by a graduation ceremony.

Elk County Catholic School System President Ted Hanes welcomed attendees to the commencement portion of the program and remarked that as the school community gathered one last time with the Class of 2026, they were giving glory, praise, and thanksgiving to all who made the day possible.

Among those Hanes cited as being deserving of thanks were the parents of the graduates for all of the sacri ces they made throughout the student’s educational journeys.

“Most importantly, today we give thanks for the Class of 2026,” Hanes said. “That they shared their journey with us. That we were able to help them along their way in mind, body, and spirit. And so, as they go out into the world on this commencement day, we remember that their role here in the ECC family is not over. It’s just taking a new beginning.”

Hanes added that he knew the graduates would go on to do wonderful things.
